Socrates was a Greek philosopher who wandered together with his followers and brought them enlightenment by holding discussions. This method continues to be effective, especially when companies need to communicate about changes in their organisational structure.

The big change

When the head of a company suddenly and without warning announces big changes - “out of the blue”, it can cause tremendous resentment and disruption among the staff. A different approach, using Socratic discussions will make the processes of change much easier to accept.

What is a Socratic discussion?

The person holding a Socratic discussion convinces his or her audience just like Socrates once did. An explanation about the whys and the wherefores provides the audience with an insight into the situation. So that heads of companies come up against much less resistance to change.
