ElaN Languages extends ISO certificates with maximum score

ElaN Languages remains compliant with the international ISO quality standard 17100. After a thorough screening, audit firm Veritas gave our translation services a maximum score of 100%. With regard to the ISO standard for post-editing, we also scored 100 out of 100.

For the ISO standard 17100, audit agency Veritas looks at the various areas in which we must score well as a translation agency: the follow-up of translation projects, the transparency of our procedures, our quality assurance, the competence of our translators and proofreaders, our contact with clients and translators, etc. Veritas does this every two years. ‘This year we achieved a score of 100%‘, says an elated Patrick Simons, Resource Manager at ElaN Languages.

Quality guaranteed

So, anyone counting on ElaN for their translations can rest assured.  ‘Indeed, the ISO 17100 standard also includes several important guarantees. As a client, you are certain that a native translator translates your texts and that a second native speaker proofreads them. By the way, that second step is optional,’ says Patrick. ‘From a technical point of view, we have also been able to work with up-to-date translation memories and other tools, we have everything we need to provide the highest quality. Our project managers closely monitor every translation project, thus completing the picture. The fact that we are constantly updating and renewing our internal systems was also much appreciated by the audit agency.’

Top-level post-editing

Our ISO 18587 certificate for post-editing was also renewed, again with a score of 100%. Our translation department’s Team Lead Ineke Convents: ‘In post-editing, our translators polish up a text that has been processed by a translation machine and turn it into a reliable, easy-to-read document. We are delighted to be fully compliant with the quality requirements of this ISO standard. Especially since we are one of the few translation agencies in the Benelux to have this certificate.
