Jurgen Croes from Crestron: "ElaN always brainstorms with us"
Hundreds of companies rely on our translation services. One of them is Crestron, a global player in workplace automation and home automation solutions. Jurgen Croes, Manager Marketing Europe at Crestron: “We have found the ideal translation partner in ElaN Languages. They always deliver the quality we expect."
“We work with partners from all over the world. Think of Zoom and Microsoft, for example. On top of that, organisation such as NASA and Mercedes’ Formula 1 team use our products. So it goes without saying that our multilingual marketing communication has to be perfect," says Jurgen Croes. From Crestron's European headquarters in Rijmenam, he is responsible for marketing and communications in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Dedicated translation team = consistent translations
From mailings over web pages to sales brochures ... all publications at Crestron are prepared in American English. "We entrust ElaN with the translation into Dutch, British English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. They employ a dedicated team of native translators and proofreaders," says Jurgen. "This is crucial, because it ensures that each translation contains our professional and preferred terms. Thanks to ElaN’s translation memories, these terms are systematically applied in all translations. On other words, consistency guaranteed."
Personal project manager = fast switching
Translating is always a two-way street and, according to Jurgen Croes, it runs smoothly. "Project Manager Piet, our dedicated point of contact, is always ready to answer small and big questions in the blink of an eye. So I see Piet as a traffic officer who always keeps our translation process on track (laughs). In the beginning, for example, translations were delivered in Word. Then, Piet and the ElaN team were able to make an arrangement with which the translated texts went directly into our online publications. A huge time-saver for us and a fine example of how ElaN always brainstorms with us to make the translation process smoother and more efficient."
Cooperation with local proofreaders
Jurgen Croes is happy to provide another example. “We let our own native speakers check some of the translations. In order to do so, ElaN’s project manager always sends us an .rtf file, which contains both the source and target language. This is extremely convenient, because it allows our local revisers to compare and make changes directly in the translation, which are also stored in the translation memory. Good for our peace of mind!"
MyTranslation = clear and straightforward.
Jurgen is particularly enthusiastic about the online platform My Translation. “Incredibly convenient. You can order a translation or search for an old translation in no time. This saves me plenty of back and forth mailing. In addition, everyone at Crestron has a clear overview of all current translation assignments. That way, everyone is on board."
